Ludmila Varlamova
Ludmila Varlamova is a Soviet and Russian painter, a representative of the famous artistic dynasty Rastorguev-Gousev-Varlamov, a member of the Moscow Artists’ Union, the International Art Fund, and the creative association "Irida." Born in Sumsky-Posad, she graduated from the Moscow Regional Institute of Culture. The painter has held solo exhibitions in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Rome, France, Prague, Cameroon, Lithuania, the USA, and other countries. Varlamova’s works are part of private collections of Pierre Cardin, Evgeny Primakov, Artemy Troitsky, Vladimir Spivakov, René and Alain Guerra, as well as Russian museums.
Ludmila Varlamova works in painting, graphics, collages, and sketches for decorative and applied arts. She prefers oil, gouache, acrylic, watercolor, and pastel, experiments with techniques, creates monotypes, and uses mixed media. She works in the genres of landscape, still life, portrait, and abstraction. Her work covers a variety of themes: carnivals, music, dance, theater, unusual situations, and female images. Varlamova constantly changes themes, palettes, and methods, paying special attention to plein air painting. Her works, created in an elegant and recognizable style, are filled with subtle nuances and bright colors, continuing the traditions of the Silver Age masters.
